So I want to take a break from talking about accessories for a bit (a few weeks, really) and talk about a an awesome trend that is HUGE for spring. It’s a very simple, feminine and versatile trend that I am quickly becoming a big fan of. ( I know I kill you with anticipation) Well, this is the pleat trend! I know you have seen the pleated skirts, dresses, and maxi dresses out there and you have been dying as well. Pleats just make everything look so pretty and billowy, and also elongate, which is always nice. You also have the ability to dress up or dress down any outfit; it just depends on the accessories and shoes you choose to pair with it. (Literally almost any shoe is acceptable with pleats) I’m also in LOVE with the material, called chiffon, that is most commonly used in the making of pleated dresses or skirts.

I think I’m also a big fan of pleats because I’m a big fan of solids and color blocking, and as you can see that is the best way to do pleats because a pattern wouldn’t be very visible. So, if you are a big fan of prints, there is a chance you may not love pleats. Also, on a tiny side note, I bought the green and purple dress and absolutely adore it. Moving on! Like I said, you may not think pleated skirts are very versatile but after viewing the pictures you can see they so are. You can pair almost any jacket, from leather to denim, and wear almost any kind of shoe, from a cowboy boot to a sandal to a pump, to put together the outfit that best fits your own style. Don’t be afraid to go crazy and take it to the extreme, or if your normally extreme, don’t be afraid to go crazy and keep it conservative. Or,  you could just keep it somewhere in between.
