The journey to success is endless. It always seems like once I’ve succeeded in one area, I’m so busy starting on something else that I don’t take time to revel in my current success.
So how do we continue to push ourselves to be the best versions of ourselves and praise the current moment?
I have a theory.
Traditionally our lives are setup in a series of big events or ‘successes’. Graduate, go to college, get married, buy a house, have babies…we all know the drill. But what no one ever talks about is what you are supposed to do in between. You know, the in between parts where are you supposed to be living the life you imagined.
So since we already know the outline of what our success is expected to look like, let’s fill in the rest with all the good stuff. By creating a series of goals that may seem smaller, but are just as important. Learn to cook or tap dance or sing. Find something you always wanted to do and do it for you. This way if we focus our positive energy on small success for ourselves, we may not get as stressed about the big ones.
And when you do succeed at something, anything, take time to revel in it, even if just for a moment.
